Heather Nedohin’s reigning Canadian women’s curling championship rink had a successful run at the Glynhill Ladies Invitational bonspiel at Glasgow, Scotland.
Nedohin lost Sunday’s final 8-1 to Switzerland’s Binia Feltscher, but that was about the Edmonton rink’s only downer during the weekend.
The Saville Centre crew, which includes third Beth Iskiw, second Jessica Mair and lead Laine Peters, had a 4-1 record to win its round-robin pool, then won its first two playoff games over Germany’s Daniela Driendl (6-3) and Scotland’s Eve Muirhead (6-2).
Nedohin was playing in the bonspiel to prepare for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Feb. 16-24 at Kingston, Ont. She has an automatic bye into the Scotties as Team Canada.
